Step 1: Nail preparation
- Disinfect Hands
Start by disinfecting your own and your client's hands to ensure hygiene during the treatment.
- Care for the Cuticles
Use a cuticle pusher to gently push back the cuticles. If you have the necessary knowledge, perform an E-manicure. Remove excess cuticles with cuticle nippers or scissors for a neat finish.
- File Nails into Shape
File the nails into the desired shape with a 180 grit file. Ensure even edges and a uniform shape.
- Dull the Nail Plate
Lightly file the nails with a 240 grit file to remove the natural shine from the nail surface. This ensures better adhesion. File carefully to avoid damaging the nail plate.
- Remove dust residues
Brush the nail clean with a dust brush and 70% alcohol, removing any dust.
- Degrease and Clean
Thoroughly clean the nail surface with 100% pure acetone to degrease the nail plate.
Step 2: Apply Ultra Bond
- Apply Ultra Bond
Apply a thin layer of The Gel Expert Ultra Bonding to the nail plate. This provides extra adhesion between the natural nail and BLISS™. Allow to air dry for 30 seconds.
Step 3: Apply Base Coat
- Apply Rubber Base
Apply a thin, even layer of The Gel Expert Rubber Base. Rubber base provides an extra reinforcing layer under the Gel Polish.
- Cure
Cure the product:
60 seconds under an LED lamp
120 seconds under a UV lamp
Step 4: Apply SLEEK™
- Apply a wipe layer
Apply a thin wipe layer to the prepared nail plate. Use the The Gel Expert Fine Liner 10 mm brush and guide SLEEK™ along the cuticles and side walls. This helps in distributing the next drop.
- Apply a building layer
Apply a medium-sized drop to the nail. Spread the product evenly from sidewall to sidewall and gently pull it away from the cuticle to 2/3 of the nail. Avoid product buildup at the free edge. Again, use the Fine Liner brush 10 mm to guide SLEEK™ neatly along the cuticles, sidewalls, and towards the free edge.
- Allow product to level
Turn the hand over for a few seconds so that the product can flow smoothly. This creates a natural curve (apex) on the nail. Check that SLEEK™ has the desired curve.
- Cure
Cure the product:
90 seconds under an LED lamp
180 seconds under a UV lamp
- Work nail by nail
Build and cure one nail at a time, alternating hands. This prevents the product from running into the cuticles or towards the sidewalls.
Step 5: Finishing the nail
- Remove the inhibition layer
Use 70% alcohol and a nail wipe to remove the inhibition layer.
- Refine the nail shape
File the nail with a 240 grit file to prevent cracking or breaking and create a sleek shape.
- Buff the nail
Buff the nail into shape with a 100/180 grit buffer, paying extra attention to the product around the cuticle and at the free edge.
- Remove dust residues
Use a dust brush in combination with 70% alcohol to remove dust from the nail.
Step 6: Apply Top Coat
- Apply Top Coat
Apply a thin, even layer of the desired The Gel Expert Top Coat.
- Cure
Cure the product:
60 seconds under an LED lamp
120 seconds under a UV lamp
- Apply cuticle oil
Apply a small amount of cuticle oil to each cuticle. Avoid contact with the nail to prevent the top coat from dulling.
- Color finish (optional)
